Josh Timonen was an atheist activist, working as personal assistant to Richard Dawkins - one of the leading voices claiming that God cannot possibly exist. Together, Josh and Richard worked to attack the very idea of believing in God. Later, after several years of questioning the meaning of life and his foundation for right and wrong, Josh found himself in a church for the first time in 20 years. At that church, Timonen and his wife were confronted with the historical fact of Jesus’ life, ministry, and resurrection, all of which he had dismissed early on in his atheism. Within the year, Josh and his wife placed their faith in Christ. Today, Josh ministers through Bibles & Barbells, a ministry he founded by combining men’s Bible study and weightlifting that now has chapters in the U.S. and Canada.

Through Jesus, we can know true freedom. Without Jesus, we are held captive by sin's power in our lives and destined to receive the penalty for our sin when we die. But God so loved us that He sent Jesus, His one and only Son, to live a perfect life, die on a cross for our sins, and rise again from the dead. Because of His death and resurrection, we can be saved if we turn from our sin and trust Him to be our Savior.

One of the most important questions you could ever ask is “Did Jesus Christ really rise from the dead?” The Bible itself even says that if Jesus did not come back from the dead, then Christianity is a waste of time.
